Cangas de On\u00eds is of outstanding historical interest. The Victory Cross of the Battle of Covadonga and the beginning of the Reconquest hangs from the Roman Bridge. It was the first capital of Asturias and Spain in the sense of seat of the Court of King don Pelayo. There are also the Dolmen and Church of the Holy Cross where is the tomb of King Favila (son of Don Pelayo) and his wife, Queen Froiluba.<\/p>\n
Its Sunday market is very famous. This is in the church square in the surroundings of the Palazzo Pintu and among the famous arcades. There you can get at a good price fresh products from the garden that the villagers bring down from their own harvest (tomatoes, onions, lettuce, peppers, zucchini, beans of different kinds), honey, eggs, butter of their own production. Also the most emblematic cheese of the Picos de Europa: the Cabrales, Gamoneu and Beyos, as well as all kinds of sausages and meats from the area, such as wild boar or deer chorizo.
